Start with the use case
The airframe price is only one part of a large jet project. Budget for controls, power, brakes, support equipment, transport, training and legally appropriate operation.
Three sensible routes
Advanced large EDF setup
- Measured thrust data
- Battery access and cooling
- Manufacturer-supported retracts
Turbine-ready airframe
- Approved turbine range
- Heat shielding
- Air trap and fuel-system documentation
Ground-support package
- Fire-safety equipment
- Battery and telemetry checks
- Purpose-built restraints
What to avoid
- Operating without insurance and local permission
- Treating online setup advice as a substitute for expert inspection
- Buying an unsupported used turbine
