What is the key difference?

A380-800: Its 79.8-metre span and 72.7-metre length were kept inside an 80-by-80-metre airport compatibility envelope. Two passenger decks provide about 550 square metres of floor area.

747-8: The 76.3-metre fuselage is longer than the A380, while its 68.4-metre span is substantially narrower. Passenger capacity depends heavily on airline configuration.
